An Update on LDA Happenings

I am pleased to report good news in a number of areas:

LDA is a Partner in the Parent Project

LDA is pleased to be a founding partner in the Poses Family Foundation’s Parent Project, along with NCLD and other organizations. We anticipate that the planned Parent Project website and social media campaigns will be of great value to parents.

The first Parent Project joint social media campaign will encourage parents to rate how well their schools serve children with learning and attention issues. Parents will be able to use this information to compare learning disability related services in the schools in their areas.  Our partner, GreatSchools , is collecting all responses and will keep them anonymous.

LDA Will Launch its Redesigned Website in January

With funding from the LD Foundation and the efforts of many volunteers and of LDA’s staff, LDA will launch its redesigned website in January. The website is user friendly and includes updated content.

LDA Can Benefit From Shoppers on Amazon

LDA can now benefit from those who shop on Amazon. Created by Amazon, the AmazonSmile Foundation is a private foundation to administer the AmazonSmile program. All donation amounts generated by the AmazonSmile program are remitted to the AmazonSmile Foundation. In turn, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates those amounts to the charitable organization selected by the customers. This is the link to use for LDA to benefit from your shopping on Amazon: http://smile.amazon.com/ch/23-7088242

LDA Plans Outstanding 2014 Annual Conference

I hope you will register for, and make plans to attend, LDA’s 51st Annual Conference scheduled for February in in Anaheim, California. The LDA Program and Conference Committees have been working together to bring in top speakers from across the country to present the latest research, best practices and hands-on techniques. The Conference offers a great opportunity to attend sessions and to share ideas with other Conference attendees.

I wish you all the best in the New Year.
