As we are fully entrenched in the holiday season and are approaching a new year, I want to express my gratitude for your support of LDA and the work you do on behalf of those with learning disabilities.
As LDA’s Executive Director, I have been heartened by the membership of this organization. Over the many years I have been at LDA, I’ve witnessed a level of commitment to a cause that is unrivaled in any other association.
I have seen compassionate service rendered to hundreds of families who have contacted LDA for guidance and resources. I’ve spoken with individuals with learning disabilities who lead fulfilling lives, testaments not only to confronting but overcoming adversity. And I’ve met dozens upon dozens of people who have made it their mission to advocate on behalf of those individuals, people like you who make a difference in their lives every day.
Each contribution you have made to LDA is valuable, and I think you’ll agree there is truly strength in numbers. One example of that strength is through our Facebook page. As of this writing, we have 21,482 followers. Amazing right?! And what’s more amazing is the fact that some of these followers have created fundraisers for LDA directly on their own Facebook page. I’ve done it myself, and I hope you’ll think about doing it too. It’s easy and Facebook walks you through the process step-by-step. Many people do it around their birthday as an alternative to receiving gifts, but you can do it anytime. If you can’t figure it out, give me a call and I’ll help you! I hope you’ll consider a gift to LDA this holiday season. Whether it’s through a Facebook fundraiser or by donating directly through our website, no gift is too small and every gift will help our movement continue in the right direction.
Thank you again for all you do. Wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays.
