Plans are underway for the 57th Annual Conference in sunny Orlando, Florida, February 17-20, 2020.  The conference committee, led by Kaci Smith and Rachel Krueger have already had the first meeting, and they have lots of great and exciting ideas! Make plans to be there!

Congratulations to Jamie Brown, LDA of Maryland’s President, who received the Spirit of Service Award at the Pentagon and also received the Governor’s Citation Award from Governor Larry Hogan!

LDA of Illinois successfully advocated for a bill that passed the Illinois Senate and Illinois House and is now on its way to the Governor. The bill requires the Illinois State Board of Education to establish standards for individuals who are serving as interpreters for parents who are non-English speaking at IEPs. Congratulations on your successful advocacy work on behalf of all individuals with learning disabilities!

LDA of New Jersey held its annual Life in High School and Beyond Conference & Resource Expo for parents of children with learning disabilities. The conference and expo received media coverage here.

What’s going on on your state?  We would love to highlight your happenings. Send an email to either cathyeinhorn@gmail.com or agoldstein@ldaamerica.org.
