College Accommodations: Why They Change and What Is Commonly Available (or Not)

This program will review the changes in prevailing laws at college an, overview of differences in the K-12 model and college model, a discussion of what accommodations are and aren’t commonly available, and a walk through a registration process and form, including information about what students have to do after they register and what documentation they have to provide.

Elizabeth C. Hamblet, College Learning Disabilities Specialist, LD Advisory

Elizabeth C. Hamblet has been a college learning disabilities specialist at the college level for two decades. In addition to working as a college consultant, she is a nationally-requested speaker who educates professionals, parents, and students about how to prepare students with disabilities for success at college. Hamblet is the author of From High School to College: Steps to Success for Students With Disabilities, and her work has appeared in numerous journals and online platforms, including Understood.org, where she serves as a college transition expert.
