President’s Message

LDA’s President, Beth McGaw, joins Mark Halpert to provide an update on what’s happening with LDA — and extends a final invitation to join us this month at the LDA of America annual conference in Fort Worth — where there will be many excellent speakers and panel discussions and where the Board of Directors will be working on future plans. An Interview with Collin Diedrich

Take a listen as our own Mark Halpert chats with Collin Diedrich, Ph. D., who is one of the many exceptional speakers we’re looking forward to seeing in Fort Worth this month! We’re heading “Deep in the Heart of Texas”

There will be line dancing, mechanical bull riding, photo booths, Texas-style barbecue, drinks, and more! This… Read More »

LDA Strengthens Legal and Advocacy Strand in Fort Worth

What makes the legal and advocacy sessions at the LDA Annual Conference special? They include not only information on K – 12 students in any category of disability but also focus on the specific issues impacting individuals with learning disabilities for both students and adults. LDA Public Policy & Advocacy Committee Co-Chair JoAnna Barnes came on the Board of LDA in 2014 and since then has made it a priority to strengthen the legal and advocacy strand at the LDA Conference. The result is a series of sessions that scaffold so they take someone from an introduction to the laws… Read More »
