Congressional Committee Holds Hearing on Dyslexia In late September the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, chaired by Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX), held a hearing on the “science of dyslexia.”  Smith stated in his opening remarks that one in five students has dyslexia or an attention issue, teachers lack training to address these students’ needs, and too few schools have specialized programs.
