Department of Education Awards “i3” Grants On August 4, the U.S. Department of Education announced the highest rated applicants for grants under the Investing in Innovation Fund (“i3”). Under i3, grants are awarded to applicants with a demonstrated record of improving student achievement to support expansion of and investment in innovative practices that close achievement gaps, decrease dropout rates, increase graduation rates, or increase college enrollment and completion rates.
