House Passes Boost for Education Jobs On December 16, the House of Representatives passed the Jobs for Main Street Act with $75 billion of the total $154 billion measure to be used to create or save jobs related to highways and transit, school renovation and school personnel, police and firefighters, small business, job training and affordable housing. The Senate hopes to take up its own version of the bill by late January, and it appears unlikely the Senate bill will be as large as the House legislation.
