SEPTEMBER 6, 2006
In addition to the 3 regional meetings for Part B state directors
and State Staff, PTI and CPRC staff, TA &D Network Directors
and staff and SPP Steering Committee members, OSEP will be hosting
a series of community based public meetings designed to give the
public information about the final regulations and learn about
and obtain some of the resources and supports available to assist
in their implementation.
Each meeting will begin with a reception followed by a presentation
about the regulations and the IDEA website as well as an opportunity
to ask questions.
Each participant will receive a copy of the regulations on a CD
ROM, as well as a copy of the "Tool Kit on Teaching and Assessing
Students with Disabilities, also on a CD ROM. Other material will
be available in print form.
LDA members are encouraged to attend these meetings. Background
information about the final regulations will be on the LDA website,
www.ldaamerica.org.
The meetings are to be held at 5:30-9:00 PM. The location of those
not listed will be posted on the IDEA 2004 web page at http://www.ed.gov/policy/speced/guid/idea/cbpm/index.html.
