2015 Annual Conference Call for Proposals

Learning Disabilities Association of America is seeking submissions for the 2015 Conference to be held in Chicago, IL, February 18-21, 2015. Anyone wishing to present a paper, conduct a workshop, provide an informational session, or make a formal presentation is invited to submit a proposal.

LDA values sessions that present current and best practices, including basic information about the nature of learning disabilities as well as innovative approaches to advocacy, assessment, intervention, and instruction. Also sought are sessions that present new ways to ensure successful transition, utilize assistive technology, access the general curriculum, provide a continuum of services, and foster productive adulthood. Of particular interest are hands-on practical techniques for Table Talk and reports of research for Poster Sessions. A special focus will be placed on research best practices and skill building of both children and adults in culturally diverse populations.

It is expected that basic and advanced presentations will be offered to provide both new and experienced conference attendees current information and opinion on both continuing and evolving topics of interest and concern.

Please note that presenters are limited to one major presentation and that sessions may not promote commercial products and/or services.

Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2014. Individuals interested in having a proposal considered for the Chicago Conference should click here.  PLEASE NOTE:  The deadline has passed.  Please take a look at how else you can support LDA at the annual Conference.

  1. To Whom It May Concern:

I am the President and Founder of Dyspraxia Foundation USA (www.dyspraxiausa.org) . Dyspraxia is a very common Neurological impairment that many people are just starting to grasp. The condition impacts under development throughout the person due to Neurons not connecting and synching and firing upon its proper means. The condition impacts motor, memory, judgment, processing, function, senses, language and or speech. The condition also never comes alone bringing in a variety of co morbid disorders. These can range from Academic to medical..

As the President and fellow Dyspraxic it would be my honor to present at the upcoming conference in Chicago in 2015. I have been featured in the press from the Chicago Tribune, ABC World News, The AP and have worked with those from Lets Move, Fremantle Media Tree Fu Tom and many others in the press and the Clinical world. I would love to present and educate the masses on a very common but poorly understood Neurological impairment.

    Warm Regards,

  3. Hello,

Thank you for offering this wonderful conference. It is a great service to the LD field!

I am planning to submit two or three proposals for staff members at Groves Academy (a school and outreach center for LD/ADHD in Minneapolis), and I have a question about the projector guidelines. If we would like to use a PowerPoint presentation, are we to supply the LCD projector, or will there be one available in the conference room?

    Thank you for your help!

What is the difference between “lecture” and “workshop” in the submission form proposal?
    Thanks for your help!

    • LDA of America Says says:

A workshop is a longer session that the program committee or an LDA committee requests. Most of our sessions are lecture or panel.
